Cabinet Repair in Honolulu, HI

Cabinet doors that hang crooked or will not shut, a concealed hinge with a screw spinning in its hole, drawers that sag or jump their slides, loose fronts and pulls. Kitchen and bathroom cabinet repair across Oahu, quoted per job in writing.

✓ Doors lined up and closing
✓ Slides matched to the drawer

Screws first

Why tighten the mounting screws before turning any adjusters?

Because if the screws holding the hinge to the door, or its plate to the cabinet box, have worked loose, no adjustment will keep the door where you set it. It drifts right back. So the mounting screws come first. A stripped hole is repaired so the screw bites again. Only then do the three adjusters on a concealed hinge get turned: side to side, up and down, and in and out. Most doors come back into line without leaving the cabinet.

  • Mounting screws checked before any fine-tuning
  • Stripped holes repaired so screws grip again
  • Old slide identified before new parts are bought
  • Replacement hinges matched to the cup and overlay
  • Sink-base leaks traced before a new floor goes in

How a crooked kitchen gets squared up

1

Count the trouble

Tell us which doors and drawers misbehave, and send a close photo of one hinge and one slide so the type is clear.

2

Read the hardware

On site each hinge and slide is identified by style, length and overlay, and the quote lists what gets adjusted and what gets replaced.

3

Parts lined up

Matching parts are sourced before the work day, since some hardware has to come over from the mainland by ship or air.

4

Tune and test

Screws re-anchored, hinges set, slides fitted, then every door and drawer is opened and closed until the gaps run even.

What does cabinet repair cover in a Honolulu kitchen or condo?

Cabinet repair in a Honolulu kitchen or condo covers the hardware that makes each box usable again: concealed hinges, drawer slides, loose fronts and pulls, plus the sink-base floor when a slow leak has ruined it. Much of it happens in apartments, since 48 percent of homes in urban Honolulu sit in buildings of 20 or more units, where the kitchen is compact and every door works hard. Parts are the other island factor. Matching hinges and slides often have to come from the mainland by ship or air, so the old part is identified first and the right one is ordered before the visit, rather than trial and error.

The job list

Small repairs and installs around Honolulu

One visit can cover several items. These six are the ones Honolulu homes ask about most; the full list sits further down the homepage.

01

Hinges and doors

If the door swings freely but sits crooked, it needs adjusting. If the hinge arm is cracked, the spring no longer pulls the door shut, or the cup has torn out of the door, that hinge gets replaced with one of the same type and overlay.
Usually with a screwdriver, since the depth and side adjusters on a concealed hinge bring most doors back without taking them off.
It is the hidden European or cup hinge set into a round bore in the back of the door. Some screws hold it on; the rest adjust it. The side-to-side screw is the one nearest the door on the hinge arm, height is set at the plate inside the cabinet, and a third screw moves the door in and out.
No. The stripped hole is filled and re-drilled so the screw bites again, and only then is the hinge adjusted.
02

Drawers, sinks and quotes

Yes, if a slide of the same mounting style and length can be found. Side-mount, center-mount, undermount and the roller-type European bottom-mount all fit differently, so the old slide is identified before anything is ordered. On Oahu that step matters more than usual, because the right part may have to be shipped over.
Soft-close slides are ball-bearing slides with a damper added. Whether they suit an existing drawer depends on how the old slides mount, which gets measured before you buy anything.
The floor can be replaced, but only after the leak is fixed, or the new one fails the same way. A dripping trap or supply line is covered on our faucet and toilet repair page.
Only when the new pulls match the old hole spacing.
Per job, in writing, before work starts. A kitchen full of loose doors and a couple of sticky drawers is usually one visit, which is cheaper than calling about each one separately; the pricing page explains why.
